Anticipated MMO developed by Pearl Abyss licenses the Umbra 3 Visibility Solution
Helsinki, Finland – January 26th, 2015 – Umbra Software today announced that the greatly anticipated Black Desert MMO developed by Pearl Abyss is improving its real-time graphical performance with the help of the Umbra 3 Visibility Solution.
Black Desert uses a game engine specifically developed for the project by Pearl Abyss. The engine enables highly detailed graphics in a massive open game world. The variety of gameplay as well as the beautiful visuals of Black Desert have already made it one of the most anticipated MMO releases amongst gamers worldwide.
Umbra’s Visibility Solution is used to enhance the rendering performance of the engine and make sure Black Desert is running at a high frame-rate even on lower spec computers. Umbra ensures that the game engine only renders graphics that are required in each frame, freeing valuable processing power. The required visibility data is automatically generated by Umbra, enabling artists to create beautiful landscapes for players to explore, without the artists having to worry about manual visibility optimization.
